What a month June was at Improv Prague! We had top-tier international talent dropping by, packed rooms, experimental games that went off the rails in the best way possible, and a whole lot of laughs.

Learning from the Best: Sebastian Conelli & The Prague Improv Hub
We were thrilled to host the incredibly talented Sebastian Conelli (all the way from NYC/UCB!) for a weekend of game-changing workshops this June. Sebastian brought high-energy, deep insights, and a ton of inspiration to our community.
- “Game from the Ground Up”: We dove deep into UCB-style (Upright Citizens Brigade) gameplay. It was fantastic to break down how to find the “funny” in a scene quickly and build on it logically (and hilariously).
- “Give Improv the Respect it Deserves”: This session was all about connection and commitment. We focused on grounded scene work, trusting our partners, and bringing real emotional weight to the stage. It was incredibly rewarding.
Sebastian’s visit reminds us of something we are incredibly proud of: Improv Prague has truly become the go-to destination for visiting international improvisers. Following in the footsteps of awesome guests like Alex Loh and Lenny Epstein, we love being the home base where global talent meets Prague’s vibrant comedy scene.
June Show Highlights: From Metro Comedy to Cože? Bar
On the performance front, June was an absolute whirlwind of experimental comedy.
Praguetasia at Metro Comedy Club
Our flagship narrative show, Praguetasia: The Improvised Musical Fairytale, was excellent! The energy at Metro Comedy Club was electric, and the cast brought their absolute A-game to the stage.
We are BACK at Cože? Bar!
We have officially returned to our beloved stomping grounds at Cože? Bar in Prague 7! You can catch us there every second Wednesday at 7:30 PM for our regular improv jam. It’s the perfect place to grab a drink, watch some comedy, or even jump on stage yourself.
The Birth of a New Game: “Name That Sock”
We’ve been experimenting with brand-new formats lately. In one of our favorite regular traditions, we asked the audience to invent the name of an improv game that has never been seen before. Someone shouted out: “Name That Sock!”
How we played it: Two players did a scene entirely using sock puppets. The twist? One of them, while in character in the scene, had to guess a famous song title that the audience already knew. The song? “Stayin’ Alive” by the Bee Gees. Watching sock puppets desperately try to act out disco-fueled survival was pure, unadulterated chaos—and it was awesome.
